New Arizona Trail Gates for Kentucky Camp            Water Burro
On August 25th and 26th, 2014, members and volunteers from the Arizona Trails Association removed the 2 old gates and installed new "Super Gates" at the Kentucky Camp boundries of the AZT, where the trail enters and exits the fenced Kentucky Camp area.

Per Shawn Redfield, Trail Director, Arizona Trail Association, "...the existing gates were too narrow for pack stock and the Copper State Trail Riders donated funds to replace the narrow gates. These over-the-top gates, built by artist/welder Rob Bauer, are really works of functional art that accommodate bikers, hikers and equestrians and resolve gate issues for all time."

The Friends of Kentucky Camp, the Forest Service, and everyone who uses the gates will be impressed and thankful for this super addition to both the AZ Trail and Kentucky Camp.

The event was also documented by Michele Bauer, photographer, and her photographs of the gate upgrade may be viewed by visiting: Michele Bauer Photos (This link will open in a new tab/window in your browser)
